Purity Level of Different Brands of Marketed Pesticides

The study was undertaken to determine the purity level of eleven selected pesticides collected from different locations Bangladesh. In this study, Gas Chromatography coupled with Flame Ionization Detector (FID) and Electron Captured (ECD) used acephate, diazinon, dimethoate, chlorpyrifos, quinalphos, malathion, fenitrothion cypermethrin, fenvalerate. High Performance Liquid (HPLC 20A Prominence) Photo Diode Array (PDA) detector carbofuran carbosulfan. Results indicated that 40% tested have lower active ingredient (ai) than stated on label container. A total 11 were tested. all brands fenvalerate 100%. cypermethrin ranged 72-100%. organocarbamate pesticide carbosulfan 70-100% 95-100%, respectively. diazinon acephate 63-100%, 67-100%, 79-100%, 83-100% 68-100%, respectively.
